This Isn’t Fate Hope plucks a harp string As a mother sobs at parting From a swaddled life just starting The snow lay deep here last spring Grit and graft will see you Whilst others stand beside you These daffodils will grow through Amongst the trees that always stood here He’ll place a stone on the cairn So those that follow can find the way The moonlight fades. This isn’t fate We’ll ride the buses all night He’ll sink a few before a fight Her words fell silent despite Feet ready to run and blue eyes bright He suffered the majority Whilst knowing morality Building for his city These arteries flowed ultimately He’ll place a stone on the cairn So those that follow can find the way The moonlight fades. This isn’t fate

Got It Made 04:37
Got it Made You have got it made, All that you can dream of. Day after blessed day Fits you like a glove. You’re loved too much but not enough For you to understand, no one will hold your hand When things get tough, and they ride roughshod Over all your plans and management demands. Never been betrayed, Never swum upstream. The only price that you must pay Is this is all someone else’s dream. You’re loved too much but not enough For you to understand, no one will hold your hand When things get tough, and they ride roughshod Over all your plans, you stand on sinking sands. When did this need for approval Get so strong that you couldn’t move? Can you remember a time you belonged without trying? When telling the truth felt better than lying? You have got it made, All that you can dream of.

The Restless Night Where old Tom Joad met Pretty Boy Floyd As the royal barge sailed grey river decked in gold Lives lie cold on beaches as they search to grow old In this suffragette city, lies shame and pity We thought twice, not everything was alright. When the cloud breaks and the thunder clears Light will bear witness as a new dawn nears. From the restless night. Old Tom he swung and Floyd he fell They rolled and tumbled, knuckles dusted well As soil settled down no blood was spilled No love was lost. Destiny fulfilled. We thought twice, not everything was alright. When the cloud breaks and the thunder clears Light will bear witness as a new dawn nears. From the restless night. Establishment truth confirms their bias. In layman's terms more than a few of them are liars. The water in the think tank refracts reality. Murky gloom absorbs light meant for you and me. We thought twice, not everything was alright. When the cloud breaks and the thunder clears Light will bear witness as a new dawn nears. From the restless night. They'd get on their bikes to hunt for work If they weren't broken on a hillside desolate. A charming man of privileged provenance Denies to others the fruits of labour. We thought twice, not everything was alright. When the cloud breaks and the thunder clears Light will bear witness as a new dawn nears. From the restless night. This cotton ain’t cheap silk. It’s dignity. Society. Unbounded integrity. This changes everything, an odyssey for sanity.

This Decade’s Gone This decade’s gone, and I got it wrong, I got it wrong. There’s an old lady across from me, she’s got life in her eyes. But those eighty-five years, have not been without tears, not been without a fight. No-one gave me a book of rules, no-one wrote a script. You make it up, you lap it up, time’s a constant itch. This decade’s gone, and I got it wrong, I got it wrong. Tell me about time, the film maker said, tell me about time. Through those walls, poetry from a man, who was almost dead A minute can last a lifetime, a year pass in a flash, You blink and it’s gone, don’t know what went wrong, another year has passed. Time’s everybody’s friend, it will never let you down, So go with it, make piece with it, make peace with it.

Passing Clouds There have been times when lately I have gone out of my mind with worries, on and on. But every day that damn sun always rises. I’m not the first to discover regret. Won’t be the last to lose someone, and yet show me the way cos I can’t seem to find it. But I heard my father say it’s only love we have each day. Passing clouds Blown away. Shadows fall as twilight creeps on in. Bruises sinking deep within the skin, that sticks and stones have well and truly broken. And far above black holes we cannot see, they’d always been a mystery. Not any more, there’s one right here to pour all my love into. But I heard my father say It’s only love we have each day. Passing clouds Blown away. Oh and I know that we’re not here to stay, pick your battles for another day. They say things fall apart, You just flew
